Using sophisticated procedural software applications, all suppliers, contractors and service providers within a country and on the globe, have equal access and exposure to customers. Customers and consumers, too, have one pool of categorised suppliers, contractors and service providers to pick from.

PSB is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel for the position of OPERATION OFFICER tenable at our Head Office in Blantyre.

Job Brief

To oversee the organisation’s ongoing operations and procedures to ensure quality

Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the Operations function of the company
  2. Manage contracts and agreements of the company, and those between clients and their customers
  3. Preparation, implementation and monitoring of the Operations cost budgets and forecasts
  4. Ensure delivery of high quality and timely service within defined cycle time
  5. Prepare and update a database of master costing software application as benchmark of prices
  6. Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual operations reports
  7. Monitor and report on supplier, contractor and service provider performance on quality and timely delivery
  8. Monitor and report on performance of clients and customers as regards to prompt payments to suppliers, contractors and service providers
  9. Lead and direct all operations staff including evaluators and monitors for prompt, efficient and effective action in response to procurement requirements of clients
  10. Liaise with public procurement regulatory authorities for government procurement guidelines and legislations
  11. Maintain operations records to ensure that procurement/bidding processes, decisions and contractual agreements are accurately documented for accountability and audit purposes
  12. Certify customer invoices for payment by clients
  13. Submit operations and related reports to the Board of Directors with recommendations

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management
  2. Member of MIPS
  3. At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Excellent understanding of Management Information Systems
  6. Excellent analytical skills
  7. Ability to work under pressure, ready and willing to work odd hours and during weekends
  8. High level of honesty and integrity
